The scope

Currently celebrating its 30th Season, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra utilizes the transformative power of live music to enrich, inspire, and serve the Central Florida community. It presents over 170 live concerts and impacts more than 70,000 children, youth, and families each year through different types of concerts, programs, and series.

In an effort to honor its past and support its future, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra held a benefit gala called Rhapsody: Celebrating Love and Music.

The challenge

As such a pivotal annual fundraising event, our team worked to develop a creative brand for Rhapsody that would elevate production quality, expand engagement, and provide a high-quality backdrop to the incredible music and celebration that the orchestra would hold at the event. 

Our creative team was asked to create event branding that would follow the Orlando Philharmonic’s overarching brand guidelines, while still invoking feelings of celebration and love through the colors, fonts, and shapes chosen.

The approach

Branding

The main inspiration for the development of Rhapsody’s visual identity comes from the observation of the musicians themselves and the perception of the music they perform. The music’s beauty arises not only from the progression of the notes played—the intervals, the highs and lows—but also from the fluidity of the musicians’ movements as they play their instruments. Therefore, all the visual elements created for Rhapsody’s branding seeks to represent this audiovisual dynamism.
