How the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program fueled our business growth

Discover how the program helped us refine our strategies and vision

Running a B2B marketing company requires not just managing day-to-day operations but also strategically planning for growth and scalability. For Hugo, founder of Different Perspective, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program (10KSB) provided the tools and insights needed to elevate Different Perspective to new heights.

Continue reading to hear from Hugo as he reflects on his experience and the key takeaways that have shaped his 10KSB program experience.

Clarity and growth

Hugo applied to the 10KSB Program to refine his approach to scaling the business and improve our marketing efforts. “I wanted to elevate our framework and push our marketing strategies further,” he explains. The application process was intense, but it provided him with valuable insight into our business, enabling him to focus on growth with a clear path forward.

An MBA for small business owners

The 10KSB program functioned like an MBA, focusing on small businesses. From the initial online classes and meeting to the week-long interaction with other entrepreneurs in New York City, the program was packed with resources and valuable interactions between business owners from across the country. The academic curriculum, taught by Babson College, was comprehensive, and the insights Hugo gained from other entrepreneurs were just as valuable.

Refining strategies and boosting efficiency

The program helped Hugo validate his existing strategies while revealing areas for improvement. “I realized that many of the tactics we were using were on the right track, but I also learned new frameworks to optimize efficiency,” he shares. These insights helped him prioritize tasks and streamline workflows, allowing our team to deliver better results for clients.

Strengthening leadership, communication, and strategic presentation

For Hugo, a valuable takeaway from the program was enhancing his leadership, presentation, and communication skills. “In our industry, communication is everything,” he says. As part of the program, he developed and presented a growth strategy to fellow participants in New York City. This experience helped him refine his presentation style, build stronger relationships, and drive better project outcomes.

Leveraging new tools for growth

The 10KSB Program encouraged Hugo to explore new tools and technologies, particularly those that enhance data-driven decision-making. “Using advanced analytics tools has given us deeper insights into client performance and improved our ability to make informed decisions,” he explains. This shift has helped the team become more proactive in managing client campaigns.

Defining success and future growth

For Hugo, success means striking a balance between business growth and personal well-being. “It’s about creating a sustainable business that provides value to clients while also ensuring work-life balance to everyone in our team,” he says. The program reinforced the importance of maintaining this balance, which has become a central component of his leadership approach.

Looking ahead, Hugo is excited to implement new strategies, expand our offerings, and continue scaling the business with the confidence and tools gained from the program. “The 10KSB Program gave me the clarity, resources, and a boost of excitement to make bolder, more informed decisions for the future of Different Perspective,” he adds.

Energized by a community of entrepreneurs

Hugo’s most valuable takeaway from the program was the opportunity to be surrounded by other entrepreneurs from across the country. “It was incredibly inspiring,” he says. “I met amazing people with fantastic businesses doing great things.” He is proud to be part of the 10KSB alum group and continues to maintain relationships with the peers he met, while also building new connections along the way.
